Partner with Culturfied!
We partner with other nonprofit organizations, government agencies and offices to execute our programs and support likeminded work happening in the community. We call these collaborators Community Partners.
• Our flagship program Culturfied Kids was launched as a series of workshops in partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, DC, and Global Education teachers in DCPS and will expand to a more robust standalone program (based on the same concept and curriculum) in Spring 2016.
• We partnered with the Embassy of Indonesia and Nepal Embassy for one of our events. We are actively seeking partnerships with more embassies, to enrich our flagship global education program. We are also seeking an embassy or cultural center willing to lend use of their space to host our upcoming Culturfied Kids Saturday program.
• Teach For America – D.C. Region invited our founder Mele Melton to be a keynote speaker and host a booth at their 2015 regional opportunity fair, where she presented the benefits of being a Culturfied facilitator, adopting Culturfied Kids program in their classrooms and recommending top students to become part of Culturfied Kids program.
• We have partnered with TOMODACHI program. Japanese and Washington DC high school students from their program ran an educational session and lesson for Culturfied Kids. The students discussed how to use chopsticks, make origami and write in Japanese. They also learned about relief efforts being conducted for areas ravished by the earthquake and tsunami that impacted Japan. We are grateful to The DC Center for Global Education and Leadership program that made TOMODACHI Program possible.
